Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War
The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War is an official government body of Ukraine. It was established on 11 March 2022 by a decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The Coordination Headquarters is responsible for:
- • Searching for and facilitating the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war and illegally detained civilians
- • Ensuring the treatment of prisoners of war in accordance with International Humanitarian Law (IHL)
- • Providing social protection and support to the families of Ukrainian prisoners of war, missing-in-action service members, and illegally detained or missing civilians
- • Supporting the reintegration and post-isolation recovery of Ukrainian defenders and their families
- • Coordinating the repatriation of bodies and remains from the enemy side to Ukraine
